Interactive video installation commissioned by Archer Mayo for the Royal Ball fundraiser in Hood River, Oregon. Translucent silk panels with cut paper design inspired by Egyptian Khayamiya tent patterns. Projected video of water filmed in Oregon. Khayamiya tent panels are used in Egypt to designate a ceremonial or celebratory space at weddings and other events. This installation was designed to provide a sacred gateway to the Royal Ball celebration. Video of water filmed in Oregon is projected onto and through translucent silk panels. Attendees walk through the installation to get to the party. The water imagery acts a blessing of light across each attendee.
